Andrew Poe, Amherst College

Andrew Poe teaches Political Theory at Amherst College and was a research fellow at the Institut für Sozialforschung in Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany. His research focuses on democratic theory, political emotions, and the politics of extremism. He has authored various articles in political theory and the history of political thought on topics ranging from democratic rhetoric, political temporality, maintaining democratic authority, and diagnosing fanaticism. Currently, he is at work completing a book-length manuscript on political enthusiasm.
