Ayesha Abdullah, Pennsylvania State University

Ayesha Abdullah is a doctoral candidate at the Pennsylvania State University. Her areas of specialization include twentieth century French continental philosophy and feminist philosophy. Her main figures of focus are Derrida, Levinas, Kristeva, and Butler. Her interests revolve around questions concerning the creation of self – gendered, raced, embodied – as well as the historical influences on how we can conceptualize the very idea of a self.
